I Need An Ark

Can Someone Please...build me an ark.
It's raining, again!
Copious amounts of rain, like, it's coming down in bucket fulls.

I am stuck inside, again, and I secretly love it,
 so fret not,
I have lot's of little inside projects to keep me busy!!

A few weeks ago, when I began my Big Picture Project/Wall Mural,
I decided to organize the pictures, on my laptop.
This my friends, has never been done!!

The pictures began in early 2010 and I am currently at 9-16-2011.
Until now, the pictures were in folders,
only named by the day they were taken.
Making it almost impossible to find special pictures.
This will take months and I assume the computer will crash
at some point, so I will have to learn how to back them up,
once they are organized.

I estimate that I have deleted more then 6,000 pictures so far,
the ones I am saving went into folders, with names,
of what the pictures are actually of.

Here's a peak outside,

looking out the front door...

looking out the home office window!!
It's really dark and there is lot's of thunder.
Last week the pool overflowed, if it rains much more,
it will overflow again!!

So please, send me an ark!!

My Favorite Pair

of horses, on the back roads in Howell, New Jersey.

 Aren't they beautiful...

so well cared for,

 and extremely friendly.

I stop at this farm all the time,

I have open ended permission from the owners,
to stop and visit anytime I would like to.

 The horses live here,
you can read another entry about A.J. Paint Farm, here.

 Bye, bye, see you tomorrow!!

Peter Cottontail

This absolutely adorable baby bunny,
kept Addie and I entertained for about 15 minutes on Wednesday.

This was my favorite picture of him,
I am rarely able to photograph them head on like this.

He was just a teeny, tiny baby...Addie got such a kick out of him!!

Summer has arrived at the Jersey Shore
and I am not doing well with the heat.
I am back to keeping myself entertained with indoor projects,
as I just can't bare to be outside.

Today the hubs and I went to an outdoor craft fair at
Ocean Grove, one of my favorite seaside communities.
It was a beautiful day, but I just could not handle the heat.

There are so many outdoor concerts, car shows, fairs and events
here at the Jersey Shore during the summer.
I have marked each one carefully on the calender
but I may have to be content with just floating in the pool!!

Not a bad option, right??

Good Day...

Sunshine

Yesterday was a gorgeous day here at the Jersey Shore,
the kind of day you want to be outside, all, day, long.

My Hydrangeas
are just starting to show some color.
This is the Endless Summer variety, it blooms four times each summer.

The Spirea's
are popping open and the ants have taken notice!

These Wildflowers
are climbing through the deck rails, reaching for the sun.

This year the Knockout Roses are exceptional,

and my Climbing Roses are so pretty in pink.
These roses bloom only once per year, but what a show!

The peonies are spent now but they were so impressive this year,

the colors were rich and spectacular!

I also had a play date with Addie...outdoor play, lunch and shopping.
I love this girl,
she has been such a bright shining light in my life!!

The Eastern Kingbird

On one of the many gloomy, rainy day's we've been having
 here at the Jersey Shore,

I was so excited to spot the Eastern Kingbird, way up high in this tree.

As I photographed this bird, I had no idea what it was...

I just knew that it was a first for me!!

After a quick flip through my bird books,
I learned that this bird is very common in these parts,
but I have never seen one.

It is very distinctive in flight, with it's whitey, white "undercarriage",
and the conspicuous white tip on its gray/black tail.

Isn't it so exciting to see a bird for the first time?
Even when it's a kind of common bird!!

Youngin's, Peaking In...

I was so excited to catch this adorable, juvenile
American Robin
Female Red Winged Black Bird

peaking in the window with so much curiosity.

Many thanks to my good friends Theresa at The Run Around Ranch
and
for helping me identify this bird!

These two are juvenile American Robins,
that hang together in this tree,

and one young American Robin,
in the front yard, munching on the berries of the pretty Cherry Laurel.
